The “French Stockman’s knife” is also known as the Laguiole. It originated from the small village called Laguiole located in Southern France in the 19th century. The “Laguiole”, was developed by workers to perform the many tasked involved in the care and handling of livestock. The modern Laguiole is easily identified by the “bee symbol” mounted on the top of the lock. It’s a sturdy but elegant knife. It comes with an “all leather” sheath and has been refined over many decades to become an excellent knife for both indoor and outdoor activities. The knife handle is made of a variety of materials (horn. bone, solid wood, micarta wood, metals, and high impact plastics).
