All Red Duck Knives (RDK) products are guaranteed against defects in workmanship and materials for the life of the original purchaser.  Whether you bought your knife from an authorized retailer or bought it directly from our consumer website please provide a copy of the “proof of purchase” when submitting a warranty claim.  If you do not have proof of purchase, please request one from either the retailer you purchased it from initially or contact our office for a receipt of your online purchase. This guarantee is voided (as determined by RDK) by misuse, abuse, improper maintenance, or product alterations. It does not cover any normal wear or tear that might occur while using the knife.  Also not guaranteed are the natural deformations and cracking that may occur in natural products such as bone, antler, horn, and wood over 60 days from the purchase due to exposure to excessive moisture, light, temperature, and changes in humidity.  Using your RDK folding blade or fixed-blade knife for any purpose other than cutting or puncturing is considered abuse and will void your warranty.

 Guarantee Claims

All guaranteed claims should be directed to the main U.S. office.  All claims should be sent prepaid and insured. For international claims: call, write, or email RDK’s Service Department for information. We are not responsible for lost or stolen packages that do not arrive at our facility. RDK reserves the right to repair or replace a product at our discretion. Defective products that are discontinued and not repairable will be replaced with a gift certificate of the original MSRP value, as determined by RDK, which can be used for a future purchase.

Non-Warranted Item Examples

Rusted/spotted/stained blades or handles (coated or not), broken or bent blades or tips, worn tool components, dull/chipped knife blades, scratched blade/tool coatings, worn/loose/deformed/cracked handle materials, sheaths, and pouches (if brand new sheaths are determined to be defective, they are replaced separately from the knife/tool), and broken/lost thumb studs.

Costs

RDK will pre-determine the cost of repair or replacement of non-warranted items and communicate the estimated cost to the customer before any work is performed.  We recommend you contact our office for an initial realistic assessment of your knife before shipping us to avoid unnecessary expenses and disappointment.

Returning product for Warranty/Replacement

Please include a brief note inside your package stating what you are returning, a copy of proof of purchase, the claimed defect, and how it failed. Also, include inside the package, your name, address, daytime phone number, and email address to reach you in case we have any questions.  If the item has sentimental value, please state that in the note.  In some cases, items are replaced, and the defective product may not be returned with the product replacement.  We recommend you contact our office for an initial realistic assessment of your knife before shipping to avoid unnecessary expenses and disappointment.
